Workshops
Workshops are designed to enable participants to explore the beauty of world folk singing traditions. The fundamentals and stylistic qualities of the music will be explored through the songs taught. Students will:
* learn a variety of songs from throughout the world
* explore the unique vocal quality associated with regional singing styles
* understand how to blend and tone voices to create a cohesive sound
* acquire knowledge of the cultural histories of the regions from which the songs emerge
* experience the joy and satisfaction generated from creating music with others
Workshop Requirements
* a large room with adequate seating for all participants,
* a chalk board or dry erase board with chalk or dry erase markers
* bottled water
